For Clarity Sake

It's something I've been meaning to do for a while, setting up a profile on Clarity.fm.

I discovered the site through my friend and colleague David Berkowitz who also created a profile there, no doubt to support the work he has been doing within the startup community.

I do have a sweet spot for startups and have worked with a couple on business models, even though the bulk of my work is on the enterprise side of business.

How it works (from the site):

1. Schedule a Call

Browse or search our community of experts to find the right
one for you. Select 3 dates and times that work best for your schedule
and specify a reason for the call. The expert has 72 hours to respond,
or the request will expire.

2. Get Confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email with a conference line
and access code provided. Block out your calendar and prepare some
questions and topics to cover in the call. Feel free to invite up to 8
others from your team to dial in as well!

3. Connect, Talk & Pay

Call the conference line provided in your confirmation email.
After the call, you’ll be charged the expert’s per-minute rate, and
they get paid. You can then leave a rating and review for the expert.

Ground rules

Upon signing up, I received a series of tips and a personal welcome communication from the founder, Dan Martell (that's him in the pic).

Part of what convinced me to sign up (on yet another service) were the ground rules, explained with simple clarity:

  • be open minded
  • be on time
  • no hawking
  • be prepared
  • be yourself

This will allow me to say "yes" to providing business advice on demand. If I could apply those to business meetings… or maybe we should allocate a cost/minute to them as well.

I do have a promo code available for a discount and will share it with a select group of business friends on my email list. I also have a VIP link to offer free advice. For the moment, I am making those available on a case by case basis because I am focused on building my stealth project.
